AI Multiplies What Your Reps Believe

Ask five of your reps to explain what you sell and count the different answers you get back. Whatever that number is, it is about to get multiplied.

Sales collateral used to be written centrally, approved, and handed down. The composing has moved to the rep, who now does it live, in the conversation.
This is already the norm at the top of the funnel. In a survey of 150 B2B software companies, 71% of SDR teams had a majority of staff using AI regularly.
So the pitch reaching your buyer is whatever answer that rep reached for. Multiply that across every conversation this quarter.
In some organisations that answer gets sharper on the way through. The same research describes reps prototyping their own tools, with RevOps formalising the ones that work, and a few companies moving their best AEs into full-time internal tooling roles.
The composing still happens live. One rep's good instinct just has somewhere to travel.
An enablement leader with 25 years in the function watched the other version play out. Her CTO switched on enterprise AI company-wide, with two introductory guides and little else.
Two days later, a rep's automated responder declined an internal meeting for having no agenda. The rep had to explain that the assistant wrote it.
It had done exactly what the rep set it up to do.
Then came the posts, reps publishing content that spoke for the company with no approved messaging behind it. Her reading: the speed amplifies whatever behaviour already exists.
Clarity compounds. Every output built on the same answer makes that answer easier for the next rep to reach for, and the version landing in front of buyers keeps tightening.
The reverse runs just as reliably. Teams that had five answers now have fifty, and each new one leaves the next rep with a slightly murkier place to start.
In a poll that same enablement leader ran, respondents flagged bad data as the risk to watch, while inconsistent buyer experience drew far less attention. Bad data you can clean up over a quarter. A buyer who heard five versions of your value proposition has already made up their mind.
So here is a question for today: when five of your reps describe what you sell, what is each of them drawing on?
