Twimbit AI Radar

North America banking edition

North American banks are transitioning from experimental pilots to full-scale AI deployments across customer experience, risk management, operations, and technology infrastructures. This AI Radar edition maps where leading institutions are investing, quantifies the business value and ROI achieved, and identifies the practical challenges that hinder scaling, such as data quality, model governance, and integration with legacy systems.

The report serves as an action guide for business and technology leaders, offering a comprehensive look at current enterprise AI use cases. It details their business benefits and constraints, introducing a total cost of ownership (TCO) perspective for generative AI, allowing banks to compare GenAI economics with traditional technology investments. The ROI from GenAI varies widely by domain, with high-impact opportunities in customer service and healthcare-adjacent use cases. Success in these areas hinges on the quality, accessibility, and governance of underlying data.

How can banks optimize their AI strategies to maximize ROI while ensuring data quality and governance?

Autonomy Without Oversight: The New C-Suite Risk

Last week, Twimbit hosted its second CXO Conclave at Club Lusitano in Hong Kong, bringing together 16 CXOs for 90 minutes of candid debate.

The room tackled three real-world dilemmas: governing AI agents built across departments, the challenge of proving ROI from agentic AI, and what "brand" means when your customer is an AI agent.

One insight emerged consistently: AI autonomy only works when governance is built in from day one.

As one CXO put it, "Unstated assumptions are expensive."

From vendor decisions and AI strategy to governance and accountability, the discussion highlighted the growing complexity leaders face as AI moves from experimentation to execution.

Thank you to everyone who brought their perspectives, challenged assumptions and made disagreement the point. Following our first Conclave at the FCC in April, this was another full house and a powerful evening of conversation.

Stay tuned for the full report and insights from the room.

Beyond Pilots: Why Governance Must Lead AI Adoption

F5 hosted The CXO Collective roundtable in Melbourne on "Securing the AI-enabled Enterprise." The discussion reflected growing urgency for organizations to close the gap between AI ambition and execution as leaders wrestle with governance, security and organizational readiness.

The session highlighted three key priorities. Most organizations remain stuck in isolated pilots despite bold board-level ambition, largely because AI's non-deterministic outputs make traditional testing and scaling approaches insufficient. Governance is becoming non-negotiable: data leakage and exfiltration were named the top enterprise risk, with "shadow AI", employees quietly using unauthorized personal accounts has flagged as a growing board-level blind spot.

Similarly, digital sovereignty is emerging as a strategic rather than purely compliance concern, with organizations seeking to reduce dependency on single hyperscalers through layered data-exposure models and cross-functional governance councils.
